Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes

$2,699,000 Donated Since Inception

Charities We Support

Birdies for the Brave.    Since inception, our Foundation has donated $2,660,000 to Birdies for the Brave (the PGA Tour’s military outreach program).  These donations are then passed onto individual charities that work with both the Birdies for Brave and the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes and have agreed to target our donations to Wounded Heroes located in, or have a connection with, the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry area.    We partner with Birdies for the Brave (B4B) for several reasons:

  • A common focus and shared vision for helping military vets and their families
  • B4B vets and approves all charities thereby avoiding any semblance of impropriety on LFWMH's part.
  • 100% of our donations go directly to the charities we select. B4B takes no salaries, administrative fees, or fees of any sort from the donations we make thereby ensuring more funding reaches Wounded Heroes, and
  • Our love of golf

In August of 2025, we donated an additional $410,000 (reflected in the amount above).  This was the largest donation Birdies for the Brave has ever received.  LFWMH directed Birdies for the Brave to allocate this year's donation to specific charities and their programs as documented below.

K9s For Warriors.   Determined to end Veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs — many of them rescues — to military Veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma, at no financial cost to the Veteran.

K9s For Warriors is proud to work with the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes to provide life-changing Service Dogs for Veterans in need. Their generosity helps us reach more Warriors and continue to save lives at both ends of the leash.
- Lindsay Grayson, K9s For Warriors Chief Revenue Officer

LFWMH donated another $150,000 in 2025 to this exceptional charity bringing our total donations to K9s for Warriors to $943,500 and a total of 39 dogs sponsored.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation ensures full financial assistance for a post-secondary degree from an accredited two or four-year college, university, technical, or trade school; and offers family and educational counseling, including in-home tutoring, to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty.

The LFWMH donated another $100,000 in 2025  to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, another exceptional charity, bringing our total donations to SOWF to $809,850 which has funded eight (8) $100,000 scholarships and we've started the funding for our ninth (9th) this year..

Folds of Honor. This charity provides life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military ... and more.  Since its founding in 2007, one of its primary initiatives has been to provide $5,000 scholarships to their selected recipients.

The LFWMH donated $100,000 in 2025 to Folds of Honor to fund twenty (20) $5,000 scholarship. This brings our total donations, in these first two (2) years of donating to this charity, to $160,000 to support funding for thirty-two (32) $5,000 scholarships.

Military Warriors Support Foundation provides mortgage free homes, and 3 years of family and financial literacy mentoring to ensure they keep their homes, to injured servicemen and their families.

The LFWMH has donated another $35,000 in 2025 to this worthy charity bringing our total donations to MWSF to $365,000 in support of funding MWSF's financial literacy mentoring  for eleven (11) mortgage-free homes.

Operation Patriots: FOB.   With LFWMH's sponsorship, OPFOB was added to Birdies for the Brave list of approved charities.  This charity focuses on reducing the number of veteran suicides that occur every day.  OPFOB "is creating a place for Veterans to come together, relax and have a good time with their brothers and sisters. A space where they feel accepted and are able to open up without doctors hovering over them trying to analyze the worst days of their lives with a textbook diagnosis. Instead (OPFOB is) giving them the opportunity to regain that connection to the people who will understand the most and ask the least."

In 2024, LFWMH donated $15,000 to this worthy organization.

Operation Shower.   Since it's founding in 2007, Operation Shower has hosted baby showers for thousands of military families, thanks to the overwhelming support of individuals and groups across the country.   In 2018, the LFWMH began its partnership with Operation Shower by sponsoring their event prior to the RBC Heritage golf tournament.

The LFWMH has donated another $20,000 in 2025 to this worthy charity bringing our total donations to Operation Shower to $96,000.

Navy SEAL Foundation.  In 2015, the LFWMH added the Navy SEAL Foundation to the list of charities to receive proceeds from our fundraising activities.

This charity provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare Community and its families.

This year we donated another $2,500 to this charity bringing LFWMH's total donation to this charity to $32,000.

Green Beret Foundation.  In 2015, the LFWMH added the Green Beret Foundation to the list of charities to receive proceeds from our fundraising activities. The Green Beret Foundation facilitates the transition of Green Berets and their families whether that transition is from wounds sustained in combat, illness, injury or “merely” from numerous deployments and/or retirement.

This year we donated another $2,500 to this charity bringing LFWMH's total donation to this charity to $32,000.

Operation Homefront is dedicated to providing valued programs designed to build strong, stable, and secure military families.

This charity has received just under $149,350 in donations from the LFWMH to support its efforts on behalf of our Wounded Heroes in the Lowcountry.

Although a worthy charity, doing it's part to help our veterans, LFWMH has not donated to Operation Homefront for the past several years opting, instead, to focus on donating to charities where our sponsors, donors, and participants are able to see the tangible benefits of their donations  (eg: a Wounded Hero paired with his service dog, a scholarship awarded to a child of a Special Operator kill in combat, other scholarships to deserving students, a mortgage-free home being donated to a Wounded Hero, etc.)

Additionally....

In addition to the donations to the charities listed above, with Birdies for the Brave's assistance, LFWMH has awarded an additional $39,000 in donations and equipment to organizations not affiliated with Birdies for the Brave.
