Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes

Charities We Support

Birdies for the Brave.    Since our beginning , our Foundation has donated in excess of $1,535,500 to the Birdies for the Brave (the PGA Tour’s military outreach program).  These donations are then passed onto individual charities that work with both the Birdies for the Brave and the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes and have agreed to target our donations to Wounded Heroes located in the South Carolina and Georgia lowcountry area.    We partner with Birdies for the Brave (B4B) for several reasons:

  • A common focus and shared vision for helping military vets and their families
  • 100% of our donations go directly to the charities we select. B4B takes no salaries, administrative fees, or fees of any sort from the donations we make thereby insuring more funding reaches Wounded Heroes, and
  • Our love of golf

In August of 2021, we donated an additional $185,500 (reflected in the amount above).  Proceeds from this donation were allocated to the following programs.

K9s For Warriors.  This charity is dedicated to providing service canines to warriors suffering from Post-traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post 9/11.  This charity's goal is to eliminate the 22 veteran suicides that occur each day.

This charity is proud to partner with the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes to give a new leash on life to warriors and rescue dogs. Outstanding organization and outstanding people.

- Becca Moleskey, Executive Director K9s For Warriors.

LFWMH donated another $75,000 in 2021 to this exceptional charity bringing our total donations to K9s for Warriors to $546,000.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation ensures full financial assistance for a post-secondary degree from an accredited two or four-year college, university, technical, or trade school; and offers family and educational counseling, including in-home tutoring, to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty.  The LFWMH has donated just under $440,000 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and we have funded three (3) full scholarships through graduation.

That number includes this year's addition of $65,000 to this deserving charity, which will help fund another full scholarship.  We are excited to share that 3 of our recipients have already graduated!

Military Warriors Support Foundation. With this year's contribution, the LFWMH has donated $240,000 to this charity allowing us to assist them in providing mortgage free homes to injured servicemen and their families in the Lowcountry.

The number above includes the 2021 donation of $25,000 to this worthy organization.

Operation Shower.   Since it's founding in 2007, Operation Shower has hosted baby showers for thousands of military families, thanks to the overwhelming support of individuals and groups across the country.   In 2018, the LFWMH began its partnership with Operation Shower by sponsoring their event prior to the RBC Heritage golf tournament.  In support of this event, LFWMH has donated a cumulative $51,500 to this charity including an additional $500 (earlier in the year), and $15,000 with this year's total.

Navy SEAL Foundation.  In 2015, the LFWMH added the Navy SEAL Foundation to the list of charities to receive proceeds from our fundraising activities.

This charity provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare Community and its families.   This year we donated another $2,500 to this charity bringing LFWMH's total donation to this charity to $22,500.

Green Beret Foundation.  In 2015, the LFWMH added the Green Beret Foundation to the list of charities to receive proceeds from our fundraising activities. The Green Beret Foundation facilitates the transition of Green Berets and their families whether that transition is from wounds sustained in combat, illness, injury or “merely” from numerous deployments and/or retirement.

This year we donated another $2,500 to this charity bringing LFWMH's total donation to this charity to $22,500.

Operation Homefront is dedicated to providing valued programs designed to build strong, stable, and secure military families.

This charity has received just under $150,000 in donations from the LFWMH to support its efforts on behalf of our Wounded Heroes in the Lowcountry.
