Birdies for the Brave. Since our beginning, our Foundation has donated $2,250,000 to Birdies for the Brave (the PGA Tour’s military outreach program). These donations are then passed onto individual charities that work with both the Birdies for Brave and the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes and have agreed to target our donations to Wounded Heroes located in, or have a connection with, the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry area. We partner with Birdies for the Brave (B4B) for several reasons:
In August of 2024, we donated an additional $300,000 (reflected in the amount above). This was the largest donation Birdies for the Brave has ever received. Proceeds from this donation were allocated to the following programs.
K9s For Warriors. This charity is dedicated to providing service canines to warriors suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disability (PTSD), traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post 9/11. This charity's goal is to eliminate the 22 veteran suicides that occur each day.
This charity is proud to partner with the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes to give a new leash on life to warriors and rescue dogs. Outstanding organization and outstanding people.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation ensures full financial assistance for a post-secondary degree from an accredited two or four-year college, university, technical, or trade school; and offers family and educational counseling, including in-home tutoring, to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty. The LFWMH has donated $709,850 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and we have funded six (6) full scholarships through graduation.
That number includes the 2024 addition of $60,000 to this deserving charity, which will complete our 7th full $100,000 scholarship and get our 8th started.
Folds of Honor. New to the Birdies for the Brave charities, Folds of Honor provides life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military ... and more. Since its founding in 2007, one of its primary initiatives has been to provide $5,000 scholarships to their selected recipients.
This year, with our first donation to this amazing organization, LFWMH donated $60,000 in support of 12 individual scholarship.
Military Warriors Support Foundation. With this year's contribution, the LFWMH has donated $330,000 to this charity allowing us to assist them in providing mortgage free homes, and 3 years of family and financial mentoring to ensure they keep their homes, to injured servicemen and their families in the Lowcountry of South Carolina and the Georgia Coastal Empire.
The number above includes the 2024 donation of $15,000 to this worthy organization.
In 2025, the MWSF will be using these funds to team with a new, local veteran's charity, OPFOB, approved by B4B to deliver MWSF's Skills4Life program. Each organization will receive $15,000 to put this program on.
Operation Patriots: FOB. With LFWMH's sponsorship, OPFOB was added to Birdies for the Brave list of approved charities. This charity focuses on reducing the number of veteran suicides that occur every day. OPFOB "is creating a place for Veterans to come together, relax and have a good time with their brothers and sisters. A space where they feel accepted and are able to open up without doctors hovering over them trying to analyze the worst days of their lives with a textbook diagnosis. Instead (OPFOB is) giving them the opportunity to regain that connection to the people who will understand the most and ask the least."
As noted above, OPFOB is partnering with the MWSF to deliver its Skills4 Life program in 2025. OPFOB will provide the facilities and accommodations while MWSF will provide the trainers and program content.
