Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes

JERsey Mike's donation ..... $50,010

JERSEY MIKE'S PHILANTHROPIC PROGRAM

For the last 15 years, Jersey Mike's has been giving back!  Their "Month of Giving philanthropic program raises money for local charities around the country.  Each year, throughout the month of March, Jersey Mike's gives its customers the opportunity to round up, donate a $1, $3, $5, or an amount of their choice to the charity selected in their local area.  And, on their "Day of Giving" (this year it was March 26th), ALL  SALES (not profit, but all revenue) from that day go to the selected charity.

This year, they raised over $31M to help charities like LFWMH.  We were humbled to have been selected as this year's local  Beaufort County recipient of their customers' donations.

Their donation to us  was the largest, single donation by any one individual or any one organization since our Foundation's inception.

May 19th CHECK PRESENTATION

At LFWMH's Appreciation Night this past May,  four (4) members of the Beaufort County, SC Jersey Mike's team were on hand to present a ceremonial check  representing the results of this year's "Month of Giving" for our area.

A heartfelt "THANK YOU" to all of the Jersey Mike's customers in the Beaufort County, South Carolina area who supported its "Month of Giving" to raise $50,009.68 and to everyone on the local Jersey Mike's team who encouraged their customers to give a little so that LFWMH can help even more Wounded Heroes.

Jersey Mike's Plans to Name Its Dog "Juice"

As with any donation of significant size, LFWMH allows the donor to name one of the K9s for Warriors service dogs we fund through Birides for the Brave.

Those of us at LFWMH thought the obvious name for Jersey Mike's dog would be "Mike".  But, that's before we knew about their brand manifesto.  Below are  portions of that manifesto that help explain why they selected the name "Juice" for their dog.

It's the PERFECT name!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Jersey Mike’s is a brand that believes: In the value of ingredients, in the virtue of intention, and in the idea that making a sub sandwich and making a difference can be one and the same.

At Jersey Mike’s, we offer a sub above – one that’s measured in more than inches or seconds ‘til served. We carefully consider every aspect of what we do ......

We start with a strong foundation: the kind of high-grade ingredients you’d use yourself if you could.  And then…there’s the juice. Red wine vinegar and olive oil.

The juice. It’s what turns good into great, better into best, and it elevates our sandwich to the highest level. The juice is the active ingredient in a sub above. It’s an exquisite zing… a splash of extra and unexpected.

Of course the concept goes beyond sandwiches:

Life is better with juice too.
A little added effort, a splash of extra and unexpected, elevates everything.

After all, helping is who we are. It’s not an angle and it’s not an act. We don’t give to get, we give to give: Our passion, our time, our talent, and our attention…we always have and always will.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reading that last paragraph, those of us at LFWMH might have thought they were talking about us.  So great to be associated with so many like-minded organizations.
